Social Policy

While we’ve been a socially conscious company since inception, we have now formalized some of our thinking around being a socially positive and sustainable business.

Travel, done the wrong way, can unfortunately have several negative social and environmental impacts. This ranges from adding to the carbon and plastics problem to food waste and the mistreatment of indigenous people.

We have formulated our own policy and encourage all our suppliers and travelers to not only follow the policy, but highlight instances where we are falling short and can do better. Some of the initiatives include;

Low Emission Vehicles – We only use Euro V and Vehicles to minimize the carbon pollution in our region. We also try and use electric or E-rickshaws when required in some of the smaller towns in order to minimize the air pollution at your destination.

Minimal Plastic Usage – We do our best to reduce our clients’ (and suppliers) plastic bottles and bags as much as we can. We also recommend some great hotels that have a strict “no plastics” policy.

Socially Conscious Hotels – Luxury hotels cause far too much waste and we have regular conversations with all our hotel partners on wastage. We also encourage our travelers to go lux light when it comes to thing like daily fruit baskets (enormous waste), daily sheet cleaning (water wastage) and daily soap / shampoo changes.

Socially Positive Experiences – We weave in some incredible socially positive, highly educational and inspirational experiences along the way if you are so inclined. These are customised experiences we have created for our guests only.

Giving Back – Every year we contribute part of our profits to one of many causes. In doing so we support orphans, animals, the corals off our islands, tribal folk and other such causes. If you would like to spend a day with one of the NGOs we support, please let us know and we will be delighted to add the experience to your itinerary.

Low Emission Vehicles – We only use Euro ___ and ____ vehicles to minimize the carbon pollution in our region.

Minimal Plastic Usage – We do our best reduce clients’ (and suppliers) plastic usage by avoiding single use plastic bottles and bags as much as we can.
